Yes. Tennessee licensing boards require continuing education related to controlled substance prescribing. Unless exempt under Tennessee law, everyone holding a current Tennessee medical license shall complete a minimum of two of the forty required hours of CME related to controlled substance prescribing. In short, you need this education every two years to renew your license.
You will earn 2.0 CME AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for MD/DO or Non-Physician.
NOTE: This course meets the 2-hour Tennessee state continuing education requirement on controlled substance prescribing for license renewal. Non-physician participants will receive a certificate of participation. Please check with your licensing board to confirm acceptance of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
Go to cme.tnmed.org and click on the Know More / No More course under ‘Latest On-Demand Programs’ in the course catalogue. This will show the course information page and continuing education information.
At the bottom of the page, click ‘Register’.
You will be asked to fill in some registration information and then asked to create a login name and
password at the bottom of the page, prior to clicking 'Register.'
If you have already created a login, click ‘returning user’ at the top of the registration page and use your username and password you previously created.
Visit the Beacon Live login page. Enter the username and password you used when registering.
You can also access the login page by going to cme.tnmed.org and clicking ‘my account’ in the top left corner of the page.
Go to cme.tnmed.org. Ensure you are logged in and select 'My Account' to view your dashboard.
Select the Know More / No More course from your list of recent registrations to begin the course.
Yes, as long as you are logged into your account before you begin.
To bookmark your place in the course once you are logged in and viewing content, you will need to exit your browser or click on the 'Logout' icon in the top right corner of your screen. This will allow you to continue from where you left off watching the video the next time you login.
NOTE: Pausing the video without logging out for an extended period will cause your session to expire, and your place will not be bookmarked.
To be eligible for certification, you must watch the course in its entirety. Your attendance is
monitored.
At the end of the course, a link to the certification process will appear on your screen.
Click on the link and follow through the certification process, including taking the quiz (you must
receive 90% or more within 3 attempts to pass the quiz). Once you have successfully completed
watching the course and taking the quiz, your certificate will be emailed to you at the email linked
to your account.
